James Franco Back On Set Of 'General Hospital'

Photo from the set shows Franco covered in blood.
By Terri Schwartz

Steve Burton and James Franco on the set of "General Hospital"
Photo: ABC

There will be blood when James Franco returns to "General Hospital" on September 20.

Despite Franco's earlier statements to the contrary, E! landed a photo of Franco on the set of the ABC daytime soap that proves that he will in fact be reprising the role of his appropriately named serial killer, Franco.

It looks like things don't end so well for Franco's soap alter ego, based on the smear of blood on the wall behind his head and the trickle coming out of his mouth in the photo. Or there's a chance he'll be bringing back the creepy by again playing a dead man in one of his character's art exhibits, considering that's how he was introduced to the show originally. The plot thickens!

Franco made his Port Charles debut in November 2009 as an artist/serial killer who becomes obsessed with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who can also be seen in the recent photo. His plot arc lasted for 41 episodes and ended last August with the killer Franco vanishing without a trace. Six months later, Franco returned and filmed three more episodes in which his character tried to bust up a pretty big wedding. Franco is going to try to do that again in the upcoming episode, according to E!.

This new appearance takes place on the eve of Jason Morgan and Samantha McCall's wedding. Franco returns to Port Charles to wreak havoc on their lives after already trying to separate them in his first plot arc.

When MTV caught up with the actor at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Franco called his relationship with "General Hospital" an "ongoing thing."

Heidi Klum: August 2011 issue of Glamour

Heidi Klum

She?s less than two years away from being over the hill, but Heidi Klum is not letting that stop her from oozing sexiness. The Victoria?s Secret bombshell shows off her slim figure in nothing but a pair of J Brand jeans, a floppy hat and Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses in the August 2011 issue of Glamour. Opening up to the magazine about her healthy sex life with husband Seal, Heidi explained how the couple keeps things hot in the bedroom. She revealed, "There's nothing wrong with a nice garter belt," she tells the mag. "I'm not saying you have to put up a pole in your bedroom and start swinging off the rafters. But I love that sometimes! My husband and I just had a 'sexy week' in London. I'd put on a super-short skirt with a garter belt on underneath so that when I'd sit, he could see it. It's fun to sauce it up a little bit." [gallery=759]

Lady Gaga Might Have Worn A Prosthetic Penis As Jo Calderone

Lady Gaga as Jo Calderone

Did you take a close look at Lady Gaga's groin area at the VMAs, when she appeared all night as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone? According to Us Weekly, if you had, you might have noticed a little somethin' somethin' down there. (And no, this isn't a rehash of the rumor from 2009 that Gaga is a hermaphrodite.) According to the mag, Lady Gaga put on fake sideburns and fake stubble to make herself look more convincing, and also sported a prosthetic penis to help her get into character. While I still think her appearance totally bombed, this makes me slightly more interested.

Something that doesn't?

Michael Jackson's Legacy, Two Years Later, By the Numbers

Legendary singer's impact continues to blossom in the two years since his death; MTV News breaks down the figures.
By Gil Kaufman

Like Elvis, Bob Marley, Notorious B.I.G. and Frank Sinatra before him, Michael Jackson's influence has continued, and grown, since his untimely death on June 25, 2009.

On the second anniversary of the King of Pop's passing, MTV News took a look at the enduring appeal of MJ's music, videos and imagery, which continue to fascinate and attract fans across the globe thanks to a series of posthumous albums, a movie, video games and two upcoming Cirque du Soleil live shows.

Where Were You Two Years Ago When You Heard the News? Tell Us on Facebook

$72 million: According to Box Office Mojo, Jackson's posthumous concert film, "This Is It," has grossed more than $72 million to date domestically and $189 million in foreign markets for a worldwide take over more than $261 million. It ranks as the #2 music documentary of all-time behind Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never." The film has also generated nearly $45 million in DVD sales in the U.S.

16: In May, Jackson lodged his first #1 on the Billboard magazine Dance/ Club Play Songs chart in 16 years with the latest single from his posthumous Michael album, "Hollywood Tonight."

2: Number of posthumous albums that have been released since Michael's death in June 2009. Last year's Michael has sold just over 510,000 copies to date, while the This Is It collection has moved nearly 1 million copies to date in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

15,000: The number of videos submitted by fans since March for the crowdsourced video for "Behind the Mask." After they were edited down by a five-person team over two months, the resulting clip used submissions from more than 1,600 participants from 103 countries.

3 million: The amount of copies sold of the Ubisoft "Michael Jackson: The Experience" video game worldwide.

$57 million: The reported cost of Cirque du Soleil's traveling MJ show, "The Immortal World Tour, which is slated to kick off on October 2.

$1 billion: That gaudy figure is the reported amount the Jackson estate had generated by last June on the first anniversary of the singer's death. According to Billboard, the revenue was generated by a combination of music sales ($429 million), film/TV revenue ($392 million), music publishing ($130 million), licensing ($35 million) and a $31 million recording contract. (A spokesperson for Jackson's estate declined to provide updated figures for this story.)

$310 million: The amount of gross earnings reported by the executors of the estate in a December 2010 court filing detailing the progress made in paying off the $400 million in debt run up by the spendthrift singer during his lifetime.

16.1 million: MJ was always a big singles artist. Yes, Thriller is one of the best-selling albums of all time, but even in death, fans can't resist cherry-picking some of Michael's best songs. That explains why he's sold more than 16 million digital tracks since June 28, 2009, the first sales week following his passing, according to Nielsen SoundScan. To put that in perspective, from the time Nielsen began counting digital tracks in 2004 until the week before Jackson's death, the singer had sold just over 8.1 million digital tracks, a figure that has doubled in just the past two years.

2013: The projected launch for a second, non-touring Cirque show celebrating Jackson. The yet-untitled show is slated to open in the spring of 2013 at a new theater being built at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

$25 million to $50 million: That's how much Jackson's estate takes in on an annual basis thanks to his stake in the half-million-song Sony/ATV catalog, which includes titles by Elvis, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Beyoncé and Bob Dylan.

Al Pacino Thanks Rappers For 'Scarface' Revival

'I think they've helped us tremendously,' actor tells MTV News of hip-hop community's support of 1983 movie.
By Rob Markman

LOS ANGELES -- Hard to believe, but when Brian De Palma's "Scarface" was released in 1983, it wasn't the beloved cult classic it is now. Critics panned the underworld drama in which actor Al Pacino played Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee who went from dishwasher to cocaine drug lord.

Today, the film lives in infamy with its ultra-violent-yet-indelible scenes and quotable one-liners like "Say hello to my little friend." Most of the appreciation and film's support has come from rappers, a fact not lost on Pacino.

"The hip-hop people and the rappers got together and they made a video and they talked about the movie. I don't think anybody's ever talked about it as articulately and clearly. I understood it better having heard them talk about it," Pacino told MTV News on the red carpet for a party celebrating the Blu-ray release for "Scarface" on Tuesday night. "I mean, they really get it and they understand it, and that's a great thing. They've been very supportive all these years. I think they've helped us tremendously."

The documentary Pacino referred to is 2003's "Scarface: Origins of a Hip-Hop Classic." In it, rappers like Diddy, Nas and Snoop Dogg analyze the movie's impact. The 71-year-old actor likens rap's affinity for his film with his appreciation for the 1932 original version of "Scarface."

"When I saw it for the first time -- and I don't mean mine, I mean Paul Muni's from [the] 1930s -- I had that feeling about it too," he said. "Anything when the hero is just reaching for something."

Ultimately, Pacino believes the appeal of his character lies in his desire to make something out of nothing -- a mantra rappers have been preaching since the 1980s.

"Man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for? That's a great expression, and I think that's Tony Montana," Pacino poetically explained. "Reaching for something he can't get but he keeps going. There is an element of hope in it, believe it or not."

Check out everything we've got on "Scarface."

Lil Wayne Celebrates Post-VMA Release Of Tha Carter IV

'Wayne dropped his album at the VMAs like a boss,' Rick Ross says at release party held at Hollywood nightclub.

Lil Wayne closed out Sunday's 2011 MTV VMAs by singing, rapping and rocking, but his night was actually just getting started. Tha Carter IV became available at midnight, and Weezy celebrated the album's long-awaited release at the Boulevard3 nightclub in Hollywood.

A number of Weezy F.'s fellow artists were in the spot to personally give the New Orleans rapper their regards. "Wayne dropped his album at the VMAs like a boss, that's something an artist can only dream of," Rick Ross told MTV News.

"Wayne is a rock star. He is just mega right now," added Rocsi Diaz of BET's 106 & Park.

DJ Khaled, who featured Wayne on a pair of songs ("I'm On One," "Welcome to My Hood") on his latest album, was also in the house. "I'm happy for him and I'm happy for all his success, and I'm a fan as well," the Miami DJ/producer said while seated between Rozay and Drake.

Even "American Idol" contestant Chris Richardson gave Lil Tunechi props, saying, "All the songs on Wayne's albums are just intelligent and new and fresh."

Some attendees already were familiar with the music on the just-released Tha Carter IV, which leaked on Thursday. "My favorite song probably is 'Blunt Blowin',' 'Abortion' [or] 'I'm Good,' " YMCMB rapper Tyga said.

Cash Money singer/songwriter and producer Kevin Rudolf also professed to listening to plenty of Weezy, as did Young Money president and artist Mack Maine, who added the reasoning by behind his favorite cuts on Tha Carter IV. "I'm a lady's man so I like 'She Will' and I like 'So Special' a lot," said Maine.

Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, More Spotted Backstage At The VMAs

We watched as all the stars at the VMAs met and hung out backstage on Sunday night.
By Jocelyn Vena, with additional reporting by Kara Warner and Matt Elias

Britney Spears and Lady Gaga share a kiss backstage at the VMAs
Photo: WireImage

There were many, many standout moments that VMA viewers witnessed from the comfort of their living rooms (Beyonc#233;'s belly! Gaga/Jo macking on Britney!). But for every big moment on air, there was plenty of other crazy stuff that went down backstage, where there were no cameras rolling. But your trusty MTV News correspondents had access all over the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and here's what we gathered from behind the scenes of the main show.

» Jo Calderone on the move! We witnessed Gaga in character, dressed in a navy suit, black hair slicked back, cigarette behind her ear, serious look on her face as she headed up to the stage!

» After Gaga's performance, her dancers left the stage, and seemed super psyched about everything. As they were leaving, the Pitbull dancers were walking on. Everyone high-fived.

» Jonah Hill and the "Jersey Shore" kids shared their mutual love for one another. "I watch your show," Hill told the cast.

» JWoww to Jared Leto: "Wow. I'm a huge fan! 'The Kill' is my favorite!" Leto: "Thank you so much!" Snooki, once they had passed the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman: "Aah?" To which Jenni replied, "That was Jared Leto. Don't you know who Jared Leto is?!"

» We spotted Tony Bennett chilling in his room with a cart with two bottles of wine sitting outside. And in other catering news: We saw Britney Spears get a delivery of cookies, and guitarist Brian May got wine.

» Brian May's and Lady Gaga's dressing rooms were next to one another. Next to that? Katy Perry. Not a meat cooler in sight!

» Speaking of dressing rooms, Britney was seen all smiles as she walked back and forth between dressing rooms with just one guy and a stylist.

» Kanye West strolled through, wearing lots of denim, and singing "Super Bass."

» Adele was walking briskly from one place to another when one of her handlers whispered the Beyoncé news to her. "I knew she would be!" Adele exclaimed.

» Gaga lit a cigarette for Adele. Naughty ladies!

» Beyoncé's mom got lots of congrats from people on her way out following B's big announcement at the show.

Rihanna's Racy Wax Figure Unveiled!

She's one of the music world's most recognizable figures, and now Rihanna has been immortalized in wax, thanks to Madame Tussauds.

Joining a slew of other A-list celebs, the "S&M" singer's racy recreation was revealed at the famed Berlin, Germany museum earlier today (August 29).

RiRi's newest wax figure has the pop superstar wearing her former fiery red 'do, sporting a plunging purple unitard with pink thigh-highs and platform red pumps.

Rihanna's likeness was first duplicated one year ago. Donning an all-black ensemble and blonde locks, her original replica is displayed at Madame Tussauds Museum in Washington, D.C.

Lady Gaga's Jo Calderone Enlists Queen's Brian May For VMAs

Legendary guitarist jams with Lady Gaga's male alter ego on 'Yoü and I.'
By Gil Kaufman

Brian May
Photo: Michael Putland/ Getty Images

He's one of the world's greatest rock guitarists, holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics, is a commander of the Order of the British Empire and he jammed with Lady Gaga at the VMAs. OK, it was Jo Calderone, but you know what we mean.

And if you didn't know who Queen's Brian May was before, you certainly did after his fiery cameo during Gaga's VMA-opening "Yoü and I" on Sunday night. Wearing all black, the British rock icon came out midway through a drag-king-tastic set for the ages, bumping hips with Jo as he/she busted open a beer and ripping off some of his legendary, spiraling riffs. Smiling broadly and walking carefully around the unpredictable Calderone, May leaned in close as Jo/Gaga threatened to expose his/her chest and shared a heartfelt hug with his new-era gender-bending pal.

May, 64, played the majestic guitar solo on the recorded version of the song, which was produced by rock master Mutt Lange (Shania Twain, AC/DC). So it was fitting that he would join Mother Monster onstage at the Nokia Theatre to re-create the epic hookup between rock and pop royalty for the big show.

Gaga, an avowed classic-rock fan, was looking for a big, meaty sound on the fourth single from Born This Way, and May was just the man for the gig. He formed legendary theatrical rock act Queen in 1971 with late singer Freddie Mercury, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor. Together, the quartet made rock history on albums such as Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera, News of the World, Jazz and The Game, which spawned such classic-rock radio staples as "Killer Queen," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."

The group's 1984 album, The Works, also featured the song that would give Gaga her now-inescapable stage name, "Radio Gaga." While setting sales and concert-attendance records with Queen, May also explored some solo work in the 1980s, collaborating on the album Star Fleet Project with Van Halen's Eddie Van Halen and continuing his solo output with 1991's Back to the Light, which he released after Mercury's death in 1991.

He's also performed and recorded sporadically with the remaining members of Queen and appeared on such reality singing shows as England's "The X Factor" and "American Idol" in 2009, where he jammed with winner and runner-up Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.

VMA AFTERPARTY WRAP-UP: Lil Wayne, Ciara, Big Sean, Christina Milian, Young Money, Kelly Rowland, & Plenty More

Lil Wayne & his skinny leopard pants hosted his Tha Carter IV album release party after the VMAs.  He missed the red carpet, likely becaue his pants were falling to his ankles and cutting off circulation so he couldn't run, but his friends surely made it.

We've got pics from Weezy's bash, the House of Hype VMA afterparty, and the Rising Icon dinner with Big Sean and his celeb friends, when you read on....

Christina Milian looked pretty in leopard for Weezy's album release party last night.  She rocked her red lip, red shoes and red clutch to accent her look.

Drizzy was there to support his YM homie.

So was Onicka of course.  Glad she changed clothes.  Even though I feel like it's still something from the Limited Too sale rack.

Sigh.  We're still rocking shades indoors at parties Keri Hilson?

Cute dress but just not understanding what she's trying to accomplish these days.

Flo Rida was there--and had a "milky" date with him all night by the way.

Ciara wore her cut-off booty shorts and a white tee for the party:

I guess throwing on a pair of black pumps turns a shopping trip look into a red carpet look.

Over at the 4th Annual House of Hype party at the SLS Hotel:

Kelly Rowland, who revealed she knew about Beyonce's pregnancy for "a while," rocked a shocking blue sequins:

And kept on her Lady Peep spiked Louboutins.  Lookin' good girl.

Oh, hey Evan Ross.  Looks like you actually showered and got dressed for real last night.

Melody Thornton rocked all white.  Just want to know what is on her head...

And actress Elise Neal was there too.

And over at the Rising Icons dinner, rapper Big Sean was honored for his single "My Last" making tons of sales and airplay:

He's so cute to me.  Think I'm getting a little crush....

DJ M.O.S. hit the turntables.

Busta and Kat Deluna partied it up.

Polow Da Don and this damn beard.  Shave.that.ish.  He kicked it with Rob Kardashian and DJ Whoo Kid.

Stephen Hill looked extra excited to kick it with Busta and Wonder.  That ash on that hand is something serious Jerry "Wonder" Duplessis.

Estelle was there to help Sean celebrate.

Awww how sweet.  Mama Sean was there to party too.

Kanye stopped by to ceebrate with his G.O.O.D. artist Sean and Sean's mom.

Akon and his brother Bu were there too.

Fab party times for all...
